MangaSpace (“the app”) is made by Billy Meli (“we”). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. In short: your library stays yours, we don’t sell data, and there are no ads, analytics, or tracking.
Information That Stays With You
Your library, reading progress, reading activity, notes, imported pages, and settings are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, your library and profile name sync through your own private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. We can’t see or access this data.
Community Features
Browsing reviews and discussions doesn’t require an account. If you choose to post, the app uses Sign in with Apple to create a community account, and stores the following on our backend provider, Supabase:
- Account identifier: a random user ID created when you sign in. We request only your name from Apple, to suggest a display name; we don’t request your email address.
- Public profile: the display name and avatar color you choose, your reader rank, and when you accepted the community guidelines.
- Content you post: reviews, ratings, discussions, and comments, including which series they’re about. These are visible to other readers.
- Interactions: your helpful votes, the readers you block, and reports you submit. These are private and never shown to other readers.
We use this information only to run the community features: showing posts, counting votes, hiding content from blocked readers, and moderating reports under our community guidelines.
Services the App Connects To
- MangaDex (mangadex.org) provides series information, covers, and chapters. When you search, browse, or read, the app requests that content from MangaDex. See mangadex.org for their policies.
- Google Books provides English volume release dates. The app sends series titles to look them up; no personal information is included. See the Google privacy policy.
- Supabase hosts community accounts and posts, as described above. See the Supabase privacy policy.
- Apple provides iCloud sync, Sign in with Apple, and notifications. See Apple’s privacy policy.
New chapter alerts and release reminders are scheduled on your device. We don’t send push notifications or collect notification data.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t sell or share your information for advertising.
- We don’t track you across apps or websites.
- We don’t include analytics or advertising SDKs.
Keeping and Deleting Your Information
Community information is kept while your community account exists. You can delete individual posts at any time, and you can delete your community account in Profile → Settings → Community, which permanently removes your profile, posts, comments, votes, blocks, and reports. To remove on-device data, delete the app; to remove synced library data, manage MangaSpace’s data in your iCloud settings.
Children
MangaSpace isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created a community account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
